Senior Technical Project Manager - MS01170
Navigation has partnered with a leading managed service provider in search for an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager with a solid software development background and most recently significant experience of project managing the software development of complex web based systems throughout the full project lifecycle.
As the successful Senior Technical Project Manager will have excellent communication and customer facing skills, preferable from a professional services or consultancy background. You will also have experience of one or more of their core vendors and technologies. These include; Java, Vignette, Oracle, Sun, BEA, IBM, Microsoft and .NET.
In addition you will possess the following:-
• 10+ years software development experience (5 years of these involving project management of complex software development projects).
• Experience of planning, tracking and controlling project costs. (Schedule and quality for enterprise projects £750k+ in value).
• Experience of managing client relationships and demonstrable understanding of commercial considerations to be taken into account in planning and delivering complex customer solutions.
• Extensive experience of business and requirements analysis.
• Actively used and applied structured software design and development methods such as OO, RUP and Agile.
• Awareness of software engineering processes (such as configuration and release management).
• Have worked in a commercial environment, managing the relationship with both customer and third party suppliers.
• Extensive experience of working with and directly managing teams of highly skilled technical development staff.
The following experience would be highly advantageous:-
• Managing web-based data / content / document oriented projects.
• Working in the media or telecoms sector.
• Formal estimating approaches.
• Professional project management qualifications (such as ISEB, APM, PRINCE2).
